I was just thinking the other day that the last time I had a proper bath was about 5 years ago.
I don't miss it at all.
Showers in various locations have become a talking point.
I look forward to trying new ones when we go somewhere new.
I have had everything from a drunken dribble to pin you against the wall and tear your skin off ones.
When was your last proper bath and do you miss them?

Love showers, what I cant stand is the auto shutoff push buttons!
Where I can fit it I use a bar and a couple of lengths of cord to hold the button in ;)
Bliss is when the shower head is not fixed but on a flexable hose.

The auto shut off's in France were by payment and you just knew as soon as you were covered in soap and shampoo they would cut off.

I honestly cannot remember but it would be about 40 years ago. I cannot conceive of wasting so much hot water and time sitting in my own dirty water.

My wife and I bought our house new some 25 years ago; it has two bathrooms, one with a bath the other a shower cubicle ... the bath has never been used other than for the shower attachment in it.

A bath of iced water is good.............. for keeping beer in!

+1 I always used to have Casio watches in the old days and the straps were just flexible enough to wrap round the button and keep it in on the work showers .. :D

To answer the original question - about 16 years ago... the thought of stewing in your own juices doesn't appeal any more... :)

Last weekend and as I'm working away from home really looking forward to Saturday. When at home probably at least 3 or 4 times a week for an hour or so.

I have always showered before having a bath as I want to soak in clean water - good book, whiskey and some nibbles.

When on the boat then swimming/floating in the sea is even better, so don't miss the bath at all.

we are not cruising (yet) but do liveaboard and we really miss the bath. So much so that we book into a hotel one night a month for a deep soak. Last month we got a deal - 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast for a bargain price. We spent most of the weekend in the bath. I had 4 baths AND spent the afternoon in the hotel spa!

We always grab extra soaks when visiting the family too :)

Since mid February we are “Dipping “ again.
Every day, just before the sundowner.
The advantage of anchoring away from town.

Swimbo does a lap around the boat, I just “inspect” the rudder next to the bathing ladder.
Anchored at Megalo Neorio Poros Greece and people with little kids are swimming.

The Nunahan Inn in Sewa in the Japanese alps 1985.
A large pit filled with scalding hot volcanically heated water and populated by half a dozen similarly naked business men. When pink and and par boiled (heart racing fit to burst) a slim and attractive young lady took my hand and helped me out of the bath and sat me on a small three legged stool. She then proceeded to rub me down with a towel rated at 60 grit interspersed with liberal splashes of ice water. Forget about erotic, this was survival. When she had finished I was handed a cold beer and helped into a linen dressing gown.
What followed is another story, but since then ordinary baths have been a disappointment.

Hate showers.
We have a bath and a hip bath..one of those French things...and a designated shower.
Both the former have showers..so in effect my bath could be deemed a large shower tray.
I have a bath every day except in the summer when swimming and deck rinses do the job.
So there we go
