Great they suggest a 33 foot one!
Fit it to my radar arch and I have an antenna 50 foot high!!!
SSB transmitting on my boat seems out of the question.

they're cheap aren't they? I think i will get one. Take several years against an epirb AND you get to call and say yeah, it really is an emergency, not someone dropped an epirb in the water by accident.

Hmm, of course an epirb immediately send out the msg, so i have got one of them anyway.

Yes this deal on satphones is cheap. £165 plus £14 per month 12 month contract - £1 per minute a call, not that much different from mobile rates when abroad. Can be used as normal mobile as well - just pop the sat arial out the back for sat calls.
