Soo, Shellbacks (Im one!) and pollywogs, what is your story?

Was out this week on a rather nice 40 foot average white boat.

The designer, who had clearly not met our Master, came up with a Big Wheel that looked cool, but needed a recess underneath it in the cockpit sole.

'Aha' says the Man. Just wait until that boat is well heeled on my bumpy sea, I will cause the lazy sheet and its big stopper knot to hurl itself suicidally into that gap just when my servants need to steer. Thricely.

That will teach them who is Boss.

Well done, O great And Portly Kingship for that test. Can't wait until the next one....

What things has he visted upon you?

Do tell........

:)

Sailed yesterday with the dinghy on deck. We know that the sheets will catch under it if we tack, but on a beam reach all the way we knew this would not happen. A large fish-farm bag wrapped itself around the keel and/or rudder, necessitating two tacks and four gybes to clear it. Sheets needed clearing from beneath the dinghy each time:disgust:
