when is the best time in the year to lift a boat?

Hi

area is east med.
in summer is like 35-40 degrees and 90-100 humidity

now is like 25-30 degrees and 70-80 humidity.

What sort of boat & why are you lifting it? Why should temp & humidity be that important anyway?

It's easy for me, with a bilge keeler & up to 11mtr tides I can look at the hull & keels twice a day, every day - if I chose to!

If you've work to do, it's good to come out in the summer. Longer daylight hours and warmer temperatures are more amenable to getting work done well and quickly, and the yards are less busy, so scheduled work has a better chance of getting done on time.

It's a compromise.
Summer nicer working conditions etc.
Winter less good sailng weather missed.

I reckon the best time, not so much to lift the boat as to paint with A/f is just when the weather starts to warm up and you are tired of in water scrubbing and the weed really starts to grow. This gives you the best A/F protection through the hot weather.
I will actually relaunch mine in spring and then pull for A/F about 6 weeks later. olewill
