when is a forum not a forum ?

I have just posted a reply to a thread on the Cowes Week Forum (http://www.cowesweek.co.uk/web/code...beron&style=std&override=&section=communicate) about posts being deleted. Within five minutes the whole thread had gone. If you post anything that doesn't follow the "party line" of Cowes Week Limited it is removed ie; difficult questions about sponsorship etc

So a question for my fellow forumites, if you have a forum on a sailing event site should it be censored (with the exception of offensive posts etc) ?

A lot of forums sponsored by organizations are heavily moderated so that only approved views appear. The fact that you can complain about IPC magazines here makes these forums unusual.

I've also found similar problems with forums run by individuals. If you disagree with the owner you tend to get banned.
