I'm talking about a yacht, rather than powerboat. The auto steering was annoying, so I steered.
Wheel autopilot - any recommendations ?

I fitted a Raymarine S1 and documented my experience here, with photographs of the wheel attachment and rudder sensor fixing.
That was a year or so ago and I have neglected to update the web site with the results but for my limited cruising it has performed well, although I had to tweak the many parameters to get precise course correction with higher sensitivity that uses more electrical power. I wouldn't go long-distance, blue-water sailing with it though.
