What\'s your favourite post-sail tipple?

Been reading quite a few cruising blogs/websites of late, and the subject of booze seems to crop up an awful lot /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

What 's the favoured apres-sail drink?

Mine's a scotch (nice of you to offer...) - preferably a good malt.

Depends on what the passage was like..
If it was a windy, wet express ride then a MG and Coke.
After a day of racing a pint satisfies a thirst
After a summers day cruising then a very cold glass of Chablis does the trick...

When we stagger back across the field and sit on the blue bench, it'll normally be a glass of wine or if it's a bit later and still nice and warm, a G&T

After the interesting problem skipper+problem heart+?burial-at-sea/duff engine/kiel canal/enormous ship combo + three day sail to Copenhagen, dunno what I was drinking, but I jolly well needed it, and quite a bit of it.

Whisky or absinthe. Or vodka, or rum, or brandy or gin. Maybe wine, or beer. Not fussed, really.

Re: What\'s your favourite post-sail tipple?

Wine with dinner then a Gin & Tonic or two, wine omited with arrivals after dinner. If feeling sorry for myself I might have a Whisky Mac (must be Crabbies) or a Rusty Nail (Whisky and Drambuie). I might be persuaded on occasion to have a Paddy's or a Jameson or a single malt. I don't drink beer except draught in places I trust, definitely not canned or bottled stuff. Oh and a rum and coke occasionally is nice.

But then I don't really drink much, just the odd social tipple...

Beer if thirst needs quenching.
G&T as a sundowner
Southern Comfort Reserve with ice as a nightcap (not available in UK but worth hunting out if in the US or Far East)

a nice, cold Heineken!

No such thing as nice Heineken. Nasty industrial fizzwater.

I'll take a pint of Ol' Doggobbler from the Tubercular Badger Brewery at Great Buggering in the Wolds.

Ah! A fine drop of stuff is that! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Beer (proper beer) if hot; a good dark rum if cold. Nice glass of wine with dinner. A good malt for afters.

Is that close to Lower Shagging on the Wolds, or am missing my mark?

Mount gay, diet coke (ordinary too sweet) fresh lime, ice, repeat as ness. or until shiters!
