I'm looking for a bracket to enable me to mount one piece of stainless tube to another at right angles to it (i.e. a liferaft cradle to the pushpit). What is this called?

Thanks

Thanks. I'll be needing one of those. To stress the blindingly obvious, the link in post #2 is to the hinged, opening type, reference #4111604.
The non-opening type, #4111525, is less than half the price but needs to be slid onto the tube, so probably no use on a welded structure such as a pushpit.

the fittings suggested need an 'end' to slide over so won't do it, as macd says above. What i want is a fitting that does the equivalent of this:-

All these answers appear to answer the question if you want to mount the 'end' of a tube to the middle of a tube at right angles...

I had imagined that the OP had wanted to mount one pole at right angles to the pulpit - but in the shape of a cross.. therefore no 'tube end' to slide into a lug.

A bit like DaveWarburton's suggestion, Seateach used to sell a square plate (with four holes drilled in it) that came with two u-bolts. These allowed for the mounting of a pole at right angles to the pulpit rail.

Something like the picture B here..

I believe the OP wants something like this:

Called a Clamplate I think and you can however get them as manufactured items for fitting a liferaft holder to a pushpit.

Last time I needed some I made my own from some SS plate and U bolts to support a wind genny pole.

Exactly. I imagined something like a scaffold clamp:

but I don't have an equivalent for stainless tube to suggest.
