What\'s the minimum?

I need to get away! Any ideas as to whether a Shetland Black Hawk 18'-8" can be lived in on a yearly basis. What are your experiences PLEASE.

I had a microplus galaxy which was 20ft. Once you have adapted to life in such a small place it really isn't that bad, although I didn't live on it but did stay on it for several weeks.
I think that as long as you are prepared for the amount of space you'll have (or not as the case maybe) then you should be OK.

Re: What\'s the minimum?

I lived in a 21 footer for 6 months. It was damned uncomfortable, something only for if you are young. Condensation seemed much more of a problem in the winter than in larger yachts, probably because the latter are usually lined. I spent most of my time in the pub, so didn't save that much. But I did get good at pool!

Nearby there was an old guy living on a 14ft punt. It had a sort of timber frame perched on it with a polythene sheet thrown over as a cover. I was told he'd lived there for 5 years. About the most meagre existence I've come across.

This was in Oare Creek, Kent, in the early 70's.

It's big enough if you're very small build and a masochist. But seriously I would be looking at something a little larger, I lived on a 34' boat for two years, it was fine.
