Clearly the thing is to anchor and simultaneously dispel all doubts about keel attachments....
so approach anchorage at maximum engine revs and continue until well and truly aground....If you do it right you should be in water shallow enough that the boat wont rock,any propellor boats coming near will immediately be propellorless and stationary as well and lastly if the worst has happened and the keel self detaches,continue motoring smartly into even shallower water and step smartly ashore with dry feet

Hmm, thing is, I am now going to go MUCH slower cos I can't afford gallon and gallons of diesel to charge around. Still like being on my boat though, so think I'll plod around at 12knts. OK, not so Efficient but over all I use less cos I go shorter distnces and I feel better.

Bad news for YOU is that my planning MOBO, which produces a well dispersed wash at high speed (lots of boat not in the water), at semi-displacement speed (which I am now forced to do thank to Europe) produces a sh!t load of wash, much, much more in fact then at speed.

So sorry, but thanks to the EU I suggest you buy a much stronger anchor and chain.

I guess it will be the EU flag with national ensign in the upper left corner. Then you can deface that one at will.
