What\'s the best discount you can get at Southampton

Ok Guys. lock and load !! I've got the cheque book out, how much do you think I can get off the base price of any new 31 footer for a deposit cheque on the last day of the show. Factual anecdotal evidence particularly welcome.

It'll depend on what sort of show they've had. It's quite possible that some of the smaller producers may not be interested in any discount at all if they've already filled their production quota.

With the mainstream manufacturers I would generalise and say up to 5%. I have been offered 9.8% on a particular French boat but the dealer is working really hard to do the deal for a specific reason. It also depends upon the deal the manufacturer is offering e.g Beneteau normally offer half price nav pack. You might find that your problem is getting delivery in a decent time for next year, although this is unlikely now more common at Earls Court.

By definition 100%. Anything more becomes theoretical and they don't generally like to give you money to have the damn thing!
