What's the best boat wax ?

Paul, Your boat is so new a coat of a really good quality polish is all that is required, certainly it does not require any compound element. Once again as so new and shiny the job becomes quite easy and I would apply a coat of polish at the beginning of the season and again half way through the year.

I have championed silveryak polish, I find its good and easy to use, but 3m products are hard to beat. I also bought a job lot of maguires flagship premium marine wax, seems to work quite well. Got to add that I am discussing with our valeting suppliers what is the best product to use on our navy blue hull, Tulana is no spring chicken and her hull is suffering from oxidisation & needs cutting back and polishing and I will be doing this in the next couple of weeks.

I've used 3M product for years now and like them a lot. The polish rafiki refers to, I think, is one of their Perfect-it products for cleaning and preparing the surface for sealing with a wax.

For the wax part I've used 3m marine ultra performance paste wax which has lasted very well. I applied it in April and the surface was still surprisingly good in Oct. I did clean the boat quite regularly with a car shampoo during the season to keep the surface clean.

Marine Reflections on this forum is the expert on the matter.

Sorry a boring question I know, but if applied correctly can any suggest a good product please
You cant just add wax.. you need to clean it first. So any standard boat wash to clean it, then I would give it a light polish with say 3M Finesse it, and then 3M Scotchbrite boat wax (purple bottle).
On vertical surfaces in the UK, water beads off all season;horizontal surfaces of course need a top up during the year.
Easy to use products, and easily available, so that is my vote.
I did speak to Dulon, but it was going to be £60 for a test sample, compared to about £25 for 3m enough to do the boat, several times.
You can even order direct from 3M

. How often do you apply the 3m polish please

Once a year generally, at the start of the season. I then wax, and follow up with another waxing at the end of the season, as it makes it easier to wash the boat over the winter. I will not need much of a polish this season, as she still looks in quite good shape.

I have been very happy with A-Glaze, but his has been on new boats.
Start with the Heavy Duty Hull Cleaner, then use Speed Finish.

Very interested in your experience with blue hull renovation when complete. Our new boat has an extremely tired blue hull
