What can you do with 'RYA keel boat L2 cert'".

Swmbo (yea really) and I went through this to join a flot' in the Ionian.

I can find loads of guff on power-boat L1/2 but nothing on keel-boats. It would seem that p-boat L2 entitles you to an ICC. For raggies L2 seems to mean nothing.

Now I'm not saying it was difficult but swmbo failed it so it's not just a sop to allow a Greek charter (I had a one day assessment before they let us loose on Moody 31).

All references talked about seem to start at 'Day Skipper' and go up from there. So what is it worth?

is this similar to the canoe & dinghy certs which just say you can make the boat go and stop but don't include navigation? the fact that it doesn't appear in any of the RYA cruising qualification literature suggests that's the case.

if so, i wouldn't want to let the holder of it loose with my expensive cruiser.
