Looks like a house central heating system cylinder blow off valve that constantly bleeds of air and gas thats caused when water is heated up, whats it screwed into looks like a sea water strainer.

Anyone that has an idea?

Very strange and not seen anything like it attached to the raw water intake. However, I Googled the name "BRAUKMANN" and came up with the following.

http://www.electrotrade.org/honeywell.html

They appear to make a range of back-flow preventers. It looks a bit heath robinson to me, but what do I know! I can't see anything on the site that looks like what you have, but it looks a little dated so could be some years old and discontinued.

Ah, too late - somebody found the exact reference!

Automatic air vent.

I wonder what it is connected to ?

Thanks, very quick response :)

I've got those on the both A/C inlets and the inlet for the genset.

The boat is coming out of the water tomorrow for the winter, started to think about how to winterize the genset & the A/C.

Do anyone know if there normally is a water filter somewhere in the line with the supplies for genset & A/C?

It looks to be an automatic air vent and is fitted to a strainer, I would think it is to allow air into the system when turned off so that you dont get back flow (syphon effect) into the engine or generator.

If you remove the head you will find it has a needle valve attached to a float which when water is flowing will lift and shut off the bleed hole.

I assume it is to work like this.

The battery isolation switch, what does it do and are the Fuses on the metalplates standard Sealine stuff, and if so, connected to?

/Kaj

I replaced one of these pop out fuses on mine, they are not particular to Sealine (also made by ETA). The one I replaced was a trip switch for the aft bilge pump.

The main isolation switch is basically just to shut down the complete 12v system on the boat (other than the items that are wired direct (I presume thru the above mentioned trips, bilge pumps etc).
