OOOhh , I suspect that may well add petrol to the flames! If a sailing forum full of experienced people cannot discuss this matter then it is a sad world indeed!

Steady on chaps I asked for it to be pulled for now after several meetings with several parties at the show.

Legally it needs to be suspended untill the investigation ( not ours obviously) is complete.

Let's be sensible about this one please. Cheers.

+1

Sorry if my initial reply sounded flippant, it wasn't meant to be critical, more along the lines of something controversial is being discussed and again has been pulled (quite rightly) for some analysis.

I find this a little confusing. Are we saying that on this forum, that any events which are subject to investigation cannot be discussed? If so I find that just a tad worrying.

I can't understand why that is a justified reason. So what if a load of folks have an opinion and post it on your forum. It makes not an iota of difference ti any investigation.

I wonder what the real reason is? What legal reason could there possibly be? Maybe the RYA or some trade association has complained that we are too opinionated?

One could see that folks had more or less got bored with the thing as the posts were heading down the list.

Nothing as exciting I am afraid and I will let you speculate but there were over 480 posts and we don't have the time (right now) to remove the offensive and controversial ones.

Feel free to debate or discuss what you think is right and wrong given the same scenario but just don't name names for the time being.

As usual there is more to this than I can say right now.

Fair point. i guess discussing the incident isnt the issue, its the speculation based "fact" that is always forthcoming.

i am sure there is some very valid and educational information in the thread

Having started one and commented on both threads, I don't have a problem with this, it is quite reasonable for IPC to protect themselves from any legal fallout.

The Rocna thread was also removed for scrutiny and then reinstated.

I trust that the same will happen here.

Surely any utter nonsense would have been picked up by the more experienced sailors on the forum and pointed out to be such. That's how forae work. There was IMHO a lot that people learnt from this incident (and related incidents) and it is a shame that it has been suppressed.

I agree with you. It's a shame the threads were removed.

And we are doing our best to get it back up if we can but there were nearly 500 posts and that takes a lot of time!!!!

Discuss the scenario by all means but not the people involved, I cant see a problem with that for the time being.
