The East Usk sectored light (aproach to the River Usk) in the pic shows red white and green,
then green white and red further inshore, why is this? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's two different lights. One's occluding, one's flashing.

Presumably they have reversed colour sectors to more easily differentiate them?

Has anyone actually seen that occulting light? We spent ages looking for it one night and never saw it.

Interestingly, the sector light and and the directional light have the same range (and I've seen neither of them, despite being in range in what I thought was adequate visibility).

I did Cardiff to Portishead on Saturday night, leaving Cardiff on the 19:30 lock. Couldn't make out the Lighthouse at all. Was a very calm and clear night and had no trouble making out the other nav aids. Is it still operational? Has it been credit crunched?
