Very very pleased with the result even after just 2 of the 6 planned coats...

Mind you... Each of the 7 days was a 12hr shift for the two of us!
 
The nice thing is that if you top it up every year it will stay that way for a number of years...

...and exactly why i've done it with a really good oil based varnish (Epiphanes).

I've discovered that a lot of the wood is Maple... and after we'd taken every bit of wood right back to bare, it looked so nice that I half wanted to leave it natural!.... but the Epiphanes, if refreshed with a new coat every year, should last for years....
 
It does look beautiful but it reminds me why I will probably never buy another boat. Enjoy the fruits of your labours you deserve to.
 
Excellent work - can't beat a nice bit of timber.
Would love to swap notes on our respective vessels.
Lots of similarities in hull 'planks', timber use etc.
You are never on board when we pop down to Shotley - or maybe you are just not visible as working hard.......
