What would you do if your boat totally disappeared?

Wonder if I can find the perp and give ‘em a good toeing. Then wonder where I’m going to get another fully sorted Sadler 32 that needs sails, dodgers, spray cover and all the ropes currently in the shed.

Whilst we're discussing Autumn hypotheticals, what would you do if your boat suddenly completely disappeared, and you similarly mysteriously found your bank balance increased by its market value?

I'd probably buy a Type 2 VW Camper for a change. I had a couple, years ago, and I'd still have the Drascombe for sailing.

So far...

* spend the money on first-class air travel
* already given boat away
* hunt down the swine to get the (already completely-sorted) boat back
* more miffed about only getting the market (as opposed to insured) value than the boat itself (Scot)
* breathe a sigh of relief
* hide the money from wife and family
* finish the one in the shed, blow the rest on raucous living... or the kitchen update
* get a manky auld floaty something, or a camper-van
* enjoy the lack of winter-maintenance stress... until the Spring arrives
* buy a smaller, more expensive boat
* regret arson
* resort to violence
* another camper-van

:D

I'd take the hush money and keep quiet. It makes sense that the US government would experiment on a westerly first rather going straight to a cannon-class destroyer like they did last time but I don't think you want to mess with those people.

Ah... that's why close perusal of Google Earth shows several rows of what I can now see are probably Centaurs and Konsorts in Area 51. The truth is out there...
