Windy. The kids had the day off and wanted to go dinghy sailing so I was watching it with some interest. It was F6 to F7 all day with 30 Knot gusts. Chapter and verse should be in the Bramblemet archive here.

yes I was asking because you lot are turning a measured f7 into a f10 - I got help from the raggie forum because they seem to ahve less wind than some of the mobo gang with exploits of small boats in f10 winds.

Now that we know it was a f7 and not an f10 you can scurry back to the mobo forum to face the music or hide under a nearby stone!!

As tcm, Tome and many others have said on MBM, it was WINDY.

If you check your "I-Spy book of Weather", you'll find the same weather applies to both forums /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It was really bad. I passed an SD boat slaming like billyo. I just set the trim and skipped across it all in my little planing boat. Was gusting atleast a F11!

Barry I totally believe that on your boat it was gusting f11, if not f12.

All motion is relative so whilst you thought it was the SD boat slamming like made it was actually you slamming like mad as the sd boat glided through the waves making cups of tea.

I bet you didn't even need engines to get it to move at 30 knots - all the hot air provided enough jet power to do the job.

I was there all day and never saw it reach a F7 in the eastern solent. Sat and Sunday much better and sea flat most of the time (Sat and Sun, not Friday).
