ihave just aquired a sail its made from very light sailcloth it has what i would call a luff line down the middle with an eye at each end and a wire the full legththen each side of the line is a sailmesuring 32 foot luff and 21feet foot its almost like two sails sewn together any ideas as to what it is called and how it is used oh yes and on the bottom corner of each side it has stba on one side oand on the back stba1 and on the other corner it has bba and bb1 thanks .Kieron /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
 
Sounds like a twin headsail tradewind downwind rig. Seems quite feasible to furl it around the wire too.
Is it symmetrical?
 
It can be.... often used with a rather clever twin pole and a special articulating joint in the centre..... or poles lashed in a special arrangement like this
