I read in the yachting press some time ago that the best mast head tv antenae had its 12 volt power supply enhancer at the mast head, unlike our status 315 that has the power supply enhancer at the bottom of the cable run. Can anyone please tell me which make of antenae has it at the mast head? This I believe is because you loose signal power in the cable run down the mast.

Thanks in anticipation.

Most of the 360 degrees tv aerials have a circuit in the aerial which is fed power by the separate box, this box also amplifies the signal. My maxview gazelle operates this way.

A little clarification needed. An antenna with a mast-head amplifier, which as its name implies is at the mast head, normally has its power supply somewhere lower in the cable. It's done this way not to prevent power loss, but to reduce noise on the signal.
