What to fix bilge pump down with and also cover my new floorboards?

As above really. I am fitting my new floorboards down over the next week and wondered what i fix my bilge pump to the bottom of my boat with? Ive seen some syringe things on ebay that say there adhesives, are these ok?

Also what shall i paint my floorboards with before i lay them? People have told me epoxy but im not sure what sort of epoxy? Is it epoxy resin or is that something different?

One option is to make an L shaped wood bracket, secure the pump to the bottom of the L and the side of the L to a joist using bolts with wing nuts. This route means that the bilge pump will not completely dry the bilge but if the bilge is deep you can easily retrieve the pump for maintenance.
