Forty miles from the nearest open water; 95 miles from the marina; gales predicted for the next couple of days; Mrs Lawsy has got me on a 50 mile round trip to pick up a piece of furniture we bought recently; I've read through those bits of the 2008 Reed's that I'm interested in. How do I get a boaty fix (even if it's only virtual) this weekend? Please help!!

where is the boat? Go down and spend a night on the moorings? put heating on ? cook a meal ,go out to pub and back?

I am on my boat this weekend and both kids have choosen to come and join me for two nights! The boat is lovely and warm and all beddings has been washed and ready for them, I also had to invest in a freeview box just in case,

I love being on board ! go for it...

so many boats are left on thier own this winter they must get lonely?

stayed on board this week, very nice, rather busy with work, but days out, by car to Snowdonia National Park, £2.50 to drive round the great ormes, & looking at the coast line & possible future boat anchoring between Carnevon & Holyhead.

Never untied the ropes, due to work, etc., but we could have also gone on to a pontoon at Conwy & got the water taxi in. Nice & warm, its colder here at home.

BUT as you can't easily stop overnight on your boat you could go to Carnevon by water, tie the boat up in Victoria dock & stop at the Black Boy pub/hotel within the walls of Carnevon £37.50 for a double room. Or do similar at Conwy. The marina said there is a convulted way out at high tide, despite no gate at the moment.
