It seems there are two types of boater.

Boater a gets his boat serviced, gets someone to wash it and anti foul it and when on the boat, doesn't use the cooking facilities and goes out for dinner.

Boater b does all the work and avoids spending money by cooking on board and rarely pays for anything if it can be avoided.

What type are you?:)

Neither!!!:)

Pay for servicing and antifoul and polish the boat myself.
 
I suppose I do "type B" things, but not because I'm tight. I like working on the boat, and I don't much like the idea of other people mucking about with her. I quite like cooking on board, and I very much like anchoring away from civilisation (as far as that's possible on the South Coast) so don't have the option of eating ashore.

Still manage to spend lotsa money on the boat though, :-/

Mostly B for me with a bit of A.

I look after the engine and most things that aren't too complicated and do all of my cleaning - I quite enjoy this most of the time:)

On the other hand I don't touch the stern drive and we have the odd meal out :D

You forgot to mention Boater A getting ripped off by the guy who does his servicing that couldn't be bothered to change the oil filter as its tricky to get at, couldn't be bothered to check the valve clearances as he did it last time and only uses oil from Halfords as its cheap.

None of this is reflected in the bill Boater A gets and when something goes pop, his faithfull mechanic gets to do the work fixing it.
