In my recent wanderings on the shores of Langstone Harbour I have noticed this little boat. I'm not thinking of taking it on, before some concerned soul tells me this is a bad idea, although there is a for sale notice and phone number there.

I just wondered what it is because I quite like the lines and the interior layout seems clever, as far as you can tell when a boat's half full of water.

The pictures are not very good as I only had my phone with me, and you can't see clearly but there's a little bowsprit. The rudder is transom hung. Keel appears to be lifting.

Three minutes from question to solution! A Matilda, then. When I saw her she brought to mind the Hurley Silhoutte, although I knew she wasn't one, and that's a Robert Tucker design too. Interesting to see from the other thread that the interior is well thought of.
Thank you for the answers.

Just very sorry it wasnt an Anderson 22 as they are superb sailing boats & are very well put together.

Looks like another Matilda

Definitely a Matilda - the chap who owns it is called Chris and lives in the flats just round the corner. He helped me out loads when my old boat was moored in Langstone and I must get back over there to say hi to him (assuming he's still there - his health wasn't great.. maybe that's why it's for sale). In the summer he keeps it on a buoy further down the beach but pulls it up behind the hard on a spring high tide for the winter.

The little bowsprit is because he cobbled together a Mirror dinghy rig and two jibs as a kind of cutter rig for it. Plenty of string to play with but not too much sail area for pottering around with his granddaughters.
