Hi, I need some piston hanks for the storm sail and genoa's which came with my boat in preparation for soime late season sailing.

Found a source:

http://www.profabrics.co.uk/snap_product...Sail%20Fittings

but they come in 44, 52, 65 and 80 ! mm sizes; cannot get back to the boat for a week so any advice on which ones would be a good fit on the above sails on a 6' boat ? (which is the key length measurement from where the eye in the sail to the forestay ???)

Thanks in advance

A storm jib for a 6ft boat is surely gilding the lilly a bit.

Assuming you mean a 26ft boat I would think the usual size is 52mm [overall length], but you might consider going up a size because if you need to use it
a/ your hands are likely to be wet & cold
b/ you could well be frightened or at least worried.
A problem with storm jibs is that they usually languish in lockers for years and when needed the hanks are seized up, so a regular check should be carried out.

Dan,
Well spotted, your right the boat is 26'

Seizing up of the hanks is precisely what happened to the previous set of hanks, so had to throw them away....forgetting to measure them before doing so

Cheers
