I had chance to have a quick look at my yacht that has just arrived hot from the manufacturer. I noticed some minor transit damage in the form of abrasion to the painted ‘boot line’ just above the waterline and minor scratching of the gel coat. I was assured that everything would be sorted before the boat was put in the water and would be ok for handover next Monday. However due to the forecast high winds she was launched early for safety before ‘repair’ was done. I am now told that it may be after handover they get a chance to sort it out....should I accept this/withhold final payment?

Not that i will ever have the money to buy a new boat but
If i was in your position i would get a price for the repairs from the local repairer and then keep that and little more back.

If they dont do the repair you have covered yourself
