Looking to spend some money /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Requirements are:
1/ Yacht
2/ Min 33', max 38' ish if I could afford it
3/ Reasonable width double berth in at least 1 cabin
4/ Decent size heads that you can use without being double jointed or a person of restricted growth!
5/ Must sail reasonably well & be good sea boat
6/ For family cruising
7/ Capable of being sailed S/handed
8/ Wheel steering
9/ > max 55K, prefer less /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Any personal rec's ???

What do you want to do with her? Local cruising, racing, blue water?

Beware of boats described as "Excellent sea boat"; as opposed to what? Excellent lake/gravel pit/ river/bath tub boat I suppose.

IMHO the expression is a polite euphemism for "a bit slow".

Would Reccommend a Moody 336. Good barand and excellent, solid crusing boats. Big aft bed with decent seat and wardrobe. 2nd berth forward also a decent size.

Down side they are on the market for the top of your budget, but probably could be had for £50k ish.

Example of one for sale here with lots of pics

If your going to sail it around the coast then there is nothing wrong with a Bavaria Jeneaux or Benny. The Bavs will give you a lot of boat for your money.

If you want something more solid there are any number of older designs around, Moodies, Westerlies etc. Some of those will be a bit slow and or in need of refit or more maintenance.

Then there are the 'others'. Did a quick look on YBM, what about this? Looks good.

How about a nice Benetaeu Oceanis 351.1998 Nice owners double cabin with massive heads Seperate shower area, wheel steering, massive cockpit locker etc etc .Ticks all the boxes. Could be one available for around £52000.

Lots of images available on google.

That's probably not far off the mark /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The Dehler will sail rings round the benetaux.

Of course the benetaux will probably be a slightly nicer place to relax at anchor after the sail.....

Decide what's more important to you!

The Dehler has been on the market at least 10 months if not more. Nasty longitudinal galley, not much love. Over priced?

Sigma 38?
You will see from my profile that I'm biased but have sailed several of these and they are great boats. Good reputation, comfy for cruising and also perform well. Sleep up to 10 so great for big families. They are still hugely in demand and go for around £50k
