What should I be looking for - any ideas ?

Although I’m very happy with my Merry Fisher 805 I’m looking to move up to a MF925 or similar just to get that little more space all round . Any ideas gratefully received on what else should I be considering in the 9 metre range with the following as limitations?

Budget £70- £80K
Inboard on shafts single or twin
Max length of 10 mts
Decent amount of comfortable seating area outside, seating for say 6 (a sociable boat)
Minimum cruising speeds say 15 kts
Fly Bridge
Not much older than 2002 or thereabouts

have you looked at the beneteau series 9 seems to tick most of your boxes

Yep, I'd agree - although in the current climate you might find a 2002 Beneteau Antares 9.80. Just that bit bigger than the 9, a proper flybridge and twin screw. Ours will cruise very happily at 19-20 knots and we've been across the channel a few times in her.

Thanks for this , i did look at a new 9.8 , very nice boat and would suit me but a little hard to find on the second hand market

No No No whatever it is has to have the old comfy seating bit outdoors and anyway I don't own a petrol station to go with it .

Thought about a canopy and might do that if I don't find somthing I like, but I would'nt waste the cash on the bowthruster ,I find its easy enough without one to be honest
- anyway the noise might wake ur parrot .

A good friend of mine has his Beneteau Antares 10.80 for sale at £77000, twin Volvo 260's, 650 hrs, Eberspecer heating, very well cared for vessel.
I have traveled in her many times and am always thrilled to be in her, she is a lovely boat, tops out at 27 knots with a clean botty.
She is in Guernsey, so Vat will be payable i spose :-(
