The new season beckons and I seem to have spent the last few weeks buying, or at least thinking about buying, those little replacements/enhancements that will no doubt improve my boating this year.

So far I have spent quite a modest amount, my list is (excluding servicing, antifouling etc)

Steering Compass (Replacement) £55
Radar Reflector (replacement) £35
Fender Baskets £60
Carbon Monoxide detector £35

SWMBO wants a new rug for the saloon floor and thats it

What your list like?

Oh dear Martyn - my list is looking small but expensive. It was to be a colour chart plotter - but now its 4 x exhaust risers - they are roughly the same price y'know /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

On the plus side, my new Navman depth sounder that I fitted over winter worked first time - brilliant and easy to see and use. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We've not bought anything yet, although up until this time last week i had done the deal on a new boat and was due to sea trial it and pay the deposit on Monday there. But after the bomb shell last week, we have put that on hold till we re-evalute of finances and commitments. The Dealer was great, he still wants us to test it, and is on the lookout for a nearly new for us.

Other than that, I have my eyes on a Yamaha 4hp 4stroke outboard for the dinghy, just got to convince my wife and then its mine!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Anyway, i thought the Med Dream have lapsed for you and you were selling to come home again??

Cheers

Alistair.

Hi Dave , sorry to read of another unexpected money pit. Hope you fix the problem quickly and is not too costly either. Roy

I am still selling, and most of the expenditure is for repairs to make it look better. We are determined to enjoy it while we still have it. I was also going to buy a Colour chartplotter but not going to buy it for someone else to use!

All options are open for the future Alistair, we would ideally like to take the opportunity to buy bigger but that depends on finances.

Replacement warps: £35.00
Ensign staff: £15.00
Chain, pick-up buoy
and shackle for new
mooring strop: £25.00
Cockpit Fire extinguisher: £35.00 (? can’t remember)
(Replacement)
New Battery - still to be done: £TBA. (? £80 ish)

That’s it at the moment. Toying with the idea of a fixed DSC VHF - we only have a portable at the moment - but wondering how I can slip it past Mrs jhr without compromising the integrity of my reproductive organs.

Still waiting for the yard to fit an ensign mounting bracket for item (2) above. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Ont contrary, I've already had comments as to its suitability for females. It's quite smoothy rounded in shape, quite thick (I mean, not as flat as the picture suggests) and about 8 inches long. With a lanyard, if that helps.
