What Paint?

My boat has a cavita line that was originally painted gold. It now looks white or greeny white in places and basically looks rubbish. What paint would be best to restore my lovely gold stripe? Is enamel paint any good? Any ideas most welcome. Cheers all!!

I use the gold coloured tape that chandlers supply for the purpose - comes in several widlths, and lasts a couple of years.

Using real gold leaf is fun, simple, but expensive. However, done properly it does last, doesn't corrode, doesn't cause galvanic hiccups, and looks very classy.
