What outboard mix ratio?

I have an old (1970's??) Yamaha 15hp outboard which, I am reliably informed, you started to run on petrol and then changed to Kero or parafin. This is true. Just going to run on petrol so does anyone know what oil mix to use. Thanks.

1st: Find out what model and year it is.

in the '80s Yamaha started suggesting 100:1 fuel/oil mix but later recinded that and reverted to 50:1

Unfortunately no plate on engine so not much info!

Try asking on the iBoats forums where you will find a forum dedicated to Yamaha and Suzuki engines. To really help you they will need to ID the model but they will be able to tell you where to find the details.

Is there a plate on the mounting bracket? IIRC Yahahas have a date letter on the plate when you find it.
