So, this month, i have untypically chosen to go out in some nice weather - Force 2. Hurrah. It is also inshore and my new boat (after the recent crashes and burnings) is a 40 footer.

This time though, I am ambiguously out with my "partner". Hm. That might mean i am suddenly gay, which doesn't help really. Does it? Gay people i know aren't any better or worse at boatfixing that straight people. Okay, some are, tho not because they are gay. I've never said Oh, you'll be good at fixing this - we straight people are just rubbish at boat stuff. But, it's partof the facts so let's think a bit further.

The other option is that I am a solicitor, in which case my Partner could draft a nasty threatening letter to the local fishermen, with "jointly and severally" and "immediate Court action" and "response within 7 days". Although this doesn't solve the immediate problem.

It is also August 31st at 1830 hours. Is this very significant? I reckon i have a bit of time befoe nightfall, and the sun is likely low in the sky so would sort-of light up things underneath if the sea temperature is okay, which it possibly might be this the end of August. Of course, we could be in the med, were it not for the factthat MBY is resolutely UK-based these days unless it says otherwise.

So, out with the breadknife and snorkels and have a poke about underneath can't do any harm. Especially if (being gay) i am handily wearing some rubberwear. Or better still, agree with my partner that if he dives in and gets the rope off the prop I promise to tie him up with it, the perv.

Or of course, if we're solicitors i will agree to go and saw the rope off *provided* that i get his written prior agreement that I get to be a Partner just like he is.

Otherwise turn wheel hard over towards the good engine and drive home on one engine.

ah, but it dosn't say seastart exists, nor that you are a member.

Anyway, the answer can't be "call seastart, as usual" else the whole flippin article would be a rolling advert for seastart, month in, month out, no?

hmm, unusually lacking in info. It's my new sports cruiser, so did I go for shafts or legs (or in deed IPS)? Also, if it's a sportcruiser, why weren't we in the cockpit already? Perhaps this explains why we ran the pot marker over in the first place.

Must be shafts, cos legs way to easy. If legs, wonder onto bathing platform (assuming oldgit hasn't chopped it off in a fit of misplaced rage) and get 'partner' to raise the offending leg (boats that is) to see what is round the prop, hack away with knife and carry on to Peurto Sonlente.

If Shafts (yet another reason why legs are better - hurrah) the we're going to get wet. Don snorkle, doesn't matter if you've only used it on the surface, your probably insured, and have a look. If it is accesible, hack away with knife till free. If not, trickle into port on one engine.

If IPS - god only knows. Props facing wrong and a long way under boat. Suggest cursing Volvo is the first cause of action.
On the up side, will test how ingeanous they really are and you can try joystick berthing with only one side working.

Re: what now skipper? (again)

I think a Mechanically orientated (you know someone who is used to power tools and batteries) Bisexual Solicitor is required here.
Plus one who could control their breathing, would be a fitting climax.
