What new batteries

Hi

I have just had some new batteries fitted to my boat, they are under the aft cabin bed but now someone told me they should be gel, is this correct,

To be honest I don’t know what has been fitted as I have not had the invoice yet but want to make sure they are correct as it is the children’s cabin

Two key questions. Are the batteries in containers which will spill any created gas directly overboard, and is the charger set to charge the correct type of battery?

Also your charger should have a temperature sensor that attaches to the batteries. If they get too hot it will slow down / stop with the aim of preventing booking and excessive gassing.

If they are in the original space and it is correctly ventilated I would imagine either would do but personally I would prefer a sealed battery under a bed or in a confined space regardless of venting.
