what length spinnaker pole for 27ft boat?

Seem to recall that it should be about the same length as the 'J' measurement of the sail plan. To get a rough idea, just measure from the foot of the mast to the forestay attachment point. I've got a Twister which is similar in size to the Sabre and the pole on ours is just over 11' long.

Hope that helps.

Re: what size spinnaker?

A sail maker should be able to advise on spinnaker size - also check crusader web site and find boat of similar size. I would of thought It'd be around the 400-450 sq ft mark.

As an aside, what about a cruising chute instead, unless you want to go round the cans? They're easier to handle/set up and don't require as much expensive hardware.

Re: what size spinnaker?

Hoisted on spinny halyard & tacked down onto stemhead fitting - or a bit further fwd if you want to experiment with bow sprits etc. The whole lot sets fwd of forestay & sheets back to blocks on the quarters.

Generally they're a bit smaller than spinny and you don't need the pole, uphaul, downhaul etc.
