What knot

43 yacht with a heavy (charter use) mainsail. So heavy that the 14mm halyard has necked/stretched down to 12mm over its 7yr life.

What knot would you use on the main halyard shackle please.

I can see how it was riggerd when supplied new but interested in others ideas.

14mm is a bit thick to tie a knot tightly.

I would get a soft eye splice through the shackle you propose to use.

Agreed. I don't think you would even be able to tie that knot either.

I would get a soft eye splice through the shackle you propose to use.

Be warned that a soft eye on a halyard can prevent it entering the sheave.
