I spent a while searching for the answer to this, so thought I'd post it for when I come back here in 5 or 10 years looking for the same thing.
Basically, the recommended advice is to use light PTFE food-safe Lubricant on the cables inside the conduit, and bike or motorcycle chain wax on the chain & sprocket in the pedestal.

Lewmar says "For conduit type steering systems such as Constellation, a lighter grease is required. Part number: 89100120. "
Searching for this Lewmar part number online finds several old references references for "PFG-210 grease", no images, with none currently available, and no information on what it contains.
One hit finds this image below .... I spoke with Cliff (who incidentlaly is very helpful for supply of lewmar winch & whitlock steering spares), and he says he can longer get his hands on this, but that a "PTFE-friendly" food-safe light lubricant is the right type of lubricant to use.
If I understood him correctly, the lewmar conduit for cable steering systems is lined with PTFE , and a PTFE based lubricant is the recommended way to go. I'm not sure if "PTFE-friendly" suggests there is a compatibility issue with using another type of lubricant.

I'm going to try something like this ...
31589 | Ambersil Lubricant PTFE 400 ml Perma-Lock FG Aerosol,Food Safe | RS Components

and a bike wax from halfords...
