What is your Age group

I think we've probably aged with the forum - I was 30 to 40 when I started posting here - now 50 to 60. A couple of Facebook pages that I friended have lots of thirty-something sailing stories and comments on. Don't know where the 20 somethings sailors hang out.

Gave up my big (21') boat at 77 and now stick to my Solo. I think I'll be able to manage that for a couple more years.

you clearly do not have your Solo at Draycote Water - dragging Solo up steep slipway aaarrgghhh and I'm not even 70!

But really doesn't entirely answer the broader question about those continuing to sail? I have come across quite a few real oldies (?70-80?). I think the numbers on a forum may not be representative of the proportions out on the water. Not everybody of that vintage bothers with too much electronic communication as far as I'm aware.
I recently met the first owner of my current boat. In good form , but past handling his 42ft yacht. He slid sideways to a motor yacht, simply to still be able to go to sea. Good on him I reckon.

When I was in the Westerly Owners' Association, I read about a member who joined in a club cruise from the Solent to the channel islands, sailing his Centaur single-handed. He was 93.

Being mid 30s (which even that is beginning to feel older to me!!) I'm glad to see that I have so much boating ahead, and only make it into the 2nd age group!!
