Lever controls pointed at by the big arrow.

And why would you have it? I am assuming the engine control is all done by the micro commander box to the left of the picture.

Its either a factory option or a retro fit as no other boats I can find of the same model have it. Also there is not repeat on the fly bridge helm, just the micro commander box.

Judging by the fact that the upholstery is shaped around it , and the micro commander is plonked on top , I would guess that it's the original controls left there as not confident with new setup / couldnt be arsed to remove (maybe)

Nope. All boats have the upholstery recess - it's an oddments tray. The micro commanders are in the same place on all examples I can find of the same model. The large levers are an addition that I cannot find on any other boats of the same make/model/vintage

Seen here on another example

Good call.

I assume these are useful (and also chuffing ugly - do they need to be that big)

Useful as I suspect those V8's would chunk that AZ 43 into quite a fast trot at idle... Not knowing about the mechanics, I would not know ... could be simple wires back to the gearbox ... or early hydraulics... If they moved easily, I'd first cut length, re-thread (change tops) and live with them for a while before considering replacement...

OK, dumb raggie question...what's a trolling valve?

Device that allows reduction in shaft RPM which will stop a MOBO doing 7 knots when putting into gear ... the levers in discussion here determines the max - min level of reduction.... and thus speed of the boat ... makes manoeuvring less brutal etc., and frequently used on sportsfishers ...

I'm glad it's not just me who hadn't a clue what they were talking about. :)
