This material was on a Sunseeker ( might have been a princess!! - boat show memory fade) slight non slip quality to it and it was used as the tops to some units and as trim on others.

I it would be a nice topping to some areas on a boat I am looking at and wondered what it was and where to get it?

PS - I have tried 2 ways of embedding an image and neither work - i just get a ? but right clicking that gives the image. Any ideas welcome!

I was curious (read bored) so after having a look at the image placed it into photobucket instead to help other readers. Nothing magic tone to dropbox. I cant get it to show from there either as an image, but can as a link.

Jrudge, I doubt the boatshow salesmen can tell you - they will know Princess's name for it in the options list, but that is not what the manufacturer will call it. Anyway, while I don't know that particular material I know there are trade suppliers of all these types of things because I traipsed around at length when speccing my current boat. Take a hike to Chelsea design centre and for that genre of material work thru the samples in the showroom of a manufacturer called Jab Anstoetz. I got all my special "non soft fabric" stuff there (eg snake and crocodile skins-see below) and they have loads of sample books with all sorts of stuff like this - every animal or embossed style finish you can imagine, in black and every shade of brown plus other colours. You could spend a long time in just that shop (then you have all the other showrooms) so make sure to wear your "decisive" hat that day. Generally they don't sell stuff at Chelsea harbour: they are manufacturer showrooms so you get the code number and order from a supplier

I realise the examples i'm showing below are skins not woven like (I think) the one in your picture but my point is they have everything for this type of application in these showrooms, both skins and other textures (and I particularly recommend the Jab anstoetz showroom)

Can't help with the name, but it's used a lot on the current Princess range. It's a synthetic woven material, often used as an upstand covering ( as the photo) also for a wearing surface on the top of cupboard/drawer units as a wearing surface, I've only seen it in the brown as shown!
