I cant find out from where i am what the time difference is??

If its 14.00 hear what would the time be in the UK???????????????? I wish people would stop messing about with the time!! When summer/winter time was put to a vote some years ago, 80% voted for no time change. Then as well the price of oil rose so Brussels said they would impliment the change anyway!!!!

Compleat waist of time voteing for Euro questions! France and others voted no to the Euro! so 18months later there was another vote "as the voters gave the wrong answer first time"!!!!

Its a wonder Europe continues to pretend to be demacratic!! In France and Italy no one wants a European constitution so the Eurocrats have asked for referendums later! When the time is right

What time is it?? bad enough knowing the time hear!!I supose ill have to buy a clock once??

That's easy, even I can explain this.

Uk is at the Greenwich zone, which is more or less the same as UTC. France (Paris line) follows The Netherlands and both are on the UTC + 1 time-zone. Given the fact that we are at the summer-time period, results to UK +1 (based on UTC) and The Netherlands +2.

Besides living a century behind in time, the main difference between CEST (Central European Summer Time) and the UK is still 1 hour. Everything located Westward is behind in time and Eastward is ahead of time......

I presume this is a very clear explanation..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well... during winter-time Greenwich is more or less UTC... during summertime there's that +1 (all for UK) factor. Main difference is that UTC is based on an atomic clock (and thus a steady accurate counting) and "Greenwich" time is based upon passing of the sun during a certain moment and thus not so accurate (ie for GPS position calculations).

For tidal calculations "GMT" is accurate enough... as long as winter or summertime corrections are included....

Re: What is the TIME DIFFERENCE between UK &FRANCE now??

if you'll settle for an universal time at say UTC 17:00 hours, we can all calculate our local time and eat somethink (lunch, dinner or desert) at exactly the same time... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Ill probably be in my car around 19:00 local time, so I'll make sure to open up a mars bar (since I am on UTC +2, that means that UTC=local time - 2 hours = 17:00 hours).

All very good but the question that complicates things is: Do all countries change to and from summer time at the same time?

heheheh.... I'll make sure that mine will be a virgin-bar which hasn't been in too many weird (for candy that is) places.....

Anyway, that story is based on less facts then say the mud-shark (red snapper) story in which (besides the groupie) members of Zeppelin and Vanilla Fudge (what's in a name...) were involved. And I'm sure it's all boaty related since fish is the main subject....

Good question! No definite answer but the obsure time (local) at we changed to summer time (twas 3 in the morning) the last time, does hint at one central UTC time - same for everybody...... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Could never see it really. Now if it had been a Picnic, or more recently a Curly Wurly.

My God!,, wish I'd been around and on-line whilst this was being posted!!! (I was at lunch in a nice little restaurant in Benitachell). Reminds me of the "Lulu show" when Jimmy Hendrix said "I'm not playing this sh*t and went into a tribute to Cream playing "Sunshine of your Love"-"

Talking of virgins then just for you ladies:
