What is the nearest new boat to a CO32 in 36\'

Contessa 32's are a legend not just for being so safe, ,but also for their lack of internal accommodation. What is the nearest new boat to a Contessa 32, but with a bit more space, or does no such thing exist?

The Hunter Mystery is a nice looking boat and reputedly sails well but probably no more space than a Contessa 32.

A salesman at the boatshow said the lightwave 35 was the modern equivalent

Is there a new Lightwave? The only one I know is an older Oyster?

Only new equivalents I can think of have already been mentioned - Rustler 36 and Hunter Mystery 35.

Doesn't mean there's not something built abroad which is a better match though.

Get yourself a newish Catalina38, side elevation drawing looks very similar to CO32, but much more beam in the middle.

Fast, Seaworthy, still very competitive (see reports on www.catalina38.org) but also a very comfortable cruiser.
Huge more accommodation compared to CO32 but obviously not as much as modern day 38 footer.

Excellent manufacturers post sales support, even for models long out of production - C38 ran from 79 to 92 (Who knows. It's the sort of company that may still have the moulds)!!!!!!

You can pick a good one up in the states for about £20-£25k. Less than some CO32's.
Have Catalina yachts refurbish and RCD it. Ship it home - even with VAT etc, youwill end up with a virtually as new yacht and still be well ahead of the cost of buying a new 36 foot CO32 equivalent in this country.(If one exists)

Go for it mate. I bought mine for £16.5K, but then I couldn't even consider the cost of a new Hunter Mystery or Rustler36.

36ft boat built to be a proper fast sailing boat, but in 2006? New, X-37, s/hand X-362.

No connections other than an ex-owner and possible return owner.

Re: Sorry.Can\'t get picture thing to work. you can view on website.nm

for a picture to work it needs to end in .jpg or a similar graphic standard. Your ref ends in .htm

The cockpit of that Mystery looks staggeringly uncomfortable.
