I have just acquired another Casio Sea Pathfinder. They have a ten year battery but the resin straps last about three years. A new strap from Casio is £12 and a new watch off ebay is £14 so I buy new ones at intervals rather than faff around trying to get the new strap on.
However, this time I decided to try and set the lunitdal interval properly so the tide grpah is a little more accurate. The instructions are fine if you live in Singapore (whoever thought you would get an instruction booklet with a watch?).
Having tried to work out the lunitidal interval on today's moonrise, moonset and the next high tide I make it about 46 minutes and the graph seems okay if a little behind the tidal prediction software. Anyone got any better estimation? I also have to compromise as Burnham is 0.5 degrees East and the watch only does whole degrees.
And no, I don't rely on the watch for tide times but when i'm on the train or away, it's useful to have rough idea for when I get home!
