What is the best marina in Essex?

Is there anything nicer than Titchmarsh?

Depends. Personally I think Burnham is the best Marina in Essex but I know not everyone will agree with me. Personally if Tichmarsh is where you are looking, I would suggest extending the search to Suffolk. Some nice marinas on the Orwell.

Hi, yes I was on the brink of moving to the Orwell, but don't plan to move until a few weeks from now, Sosa I have time thought Ishould at least check out Essex, I did like Titchmarsh a nice place but thought the Orwell was better as a general location, have never been to Burnham

Hi Paul, just replied to your PM and very happy to chat.

Options in Essex are primarily the Crouch and the Blackwater. The former has Fambridge an hour-ish upriver in a nice spot, Burnham as already mentioned (not an unpleasant town) and Essex Marina accross the other side (nice enough and the home of Boats.co.uk but perhaps a little more isolated).

The Blackwater has Bradwell, which is accessible at most states of tide, Brighlingsea (not been there but there is a report in a recent edition of Practical Motorboat Owner - the online mag) and Tollesbury. The latter is our favourite spot on the East Coast but the approach dries out completely so tidally restricted. There are moorings further up at Heybridge Basin but again it is tidally restricted and there isn't much in the way of facilities.

You have already looked at Titchmarsh, which isn't a bad spot.
