it's a rubber, flexible thing.

Perhaps one of the four flexible mounts for a domestic water pump? Struggled with them recently so they look familiar. If your pump is mounted in as awkward spot as mine it may well be the last corner left unused and the pump is hanging on three.

+1. Looks like one of mine. They hook into a recess on the pump and get screwed to whatever the pump is mounted on.
