How disappointing. I thought it was a load of very old, naked trapeze artists hanging upside-down. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

...the revised picture is of the same ladies standing in a Force 9 last week. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They make them in Cowes. And the name of the boat that takes them to Southampton is ... BLADERUNNER !

[/ QUOTE ] They're getting everywhere. It looks to me as though Bladerunner is too big to fit in the dock at the Newport works. The original plan was to load them on a barge at Newport, hence the special dock, and take them to Southampton for transhipment from there.

There was an article in the Institution of Civil Engineers Magazine "New Civil Engineer" about the Newport facility a couple of years or so back. I don't have it now though.

The idea of the factory on the IOW was that the skills for making the blades wre already on the Island.

......they do. I fitted out the offices in that factory. They had about 20/30 admin staff and 6 bods in the production area at the time.......
