My Sadler 25 has a table that 'unhooks' from two things on the side of the boat's woodwork to act as an infill to form a bed. The table top has two other things which are attached to the edge and which fit into the first two things. One inserts these second two things into the first two things by holding the table at a raised angle, lowering the table to horizontal once the second two things have engaged with the first two things.

With me so far?

I've broken one of the second two things on the table's edge.

What are these called and where can I get them?

They are probably just mounting brackets. Look for a makers stamp : rwo, iye, etc .... and then look at catalogues on the internet ... or fabricate replacements yourself.

Clumsy! OK a few photos would help identify the parts, they sound like knockdown fasteners or contact http://www.mikelucasyachting.co.uk/ - telephone numbers and email addresses on the site

A little more detail or a picture would indeed help, but it sounds very much like the interlocking strips (aluminium) which are used to mount one end of a caravan table, with some other form of support at the other end. I have one of these strips on the outboard edge of my dinette table and as the top is lowered it bears down onto a pedestal mount at the inboard end.

It may well be worth your while checking out the accessories at a caravan store - or if you can confirm that this is what you need, then PM me as I broke a caravan a few years back and the fittings must be around the house somewhere... I do wonder if it is this type how one could break one.

Rob.

Simplest solution might be to look at a few caravan spares sites or visit local caravan centres and choose something to replace both fittings.

Thanks all, for the caravan parts tip - I googled caravan table support and I did find something that was almost, but not quite, completely different from what I have, but it will do the same job. I'll need to replace both sides and I'll probably have visible holes and pale patches left, though

One solution would be to take the broken part to a stainless steel factor who should be able to replicate (or even repair) it at a cost which will be reasonable compared with the time you would otherwise spend.
