Seen on a couple of 'racing' forums references to 'Lopez' blocks. Did a google search but can't any definitive info. Anyone know what a lopez block is, or a link to a picture of one?

It's a type of genoa car/block/cam cleat combination for cross sheeting on racing boats. A racing person will be along shortly to explain cross sheeting.
Pretty much exclusive to J24s. They're a type of cam cleat on a block used for the genoa sheet. The idea is the a crewmember hauls in the majority of the sheet in double quick time while tacking, then cleats off on the cam cleats. The sheets are then taken to the windward winches - cross sheeting, keeping weight on the high side, and the angle of the cleats is such that the sheet pops out once you take tension on the sheet on the winch.
