What exactly does S...ron do?

Just a quick note as a new convert to that smelly diesel stuff.

I have a twin diesel cooker (wallas) on the new boat which will cook with antifreeze but will it still cook with Soltron!

Just need to know before I make you a very rich man (well enough to buy a pint anyway /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

Cheers

Yes, in fact i have several people that use soltron in oil / diesel fired boilers, and it really reduces the emissions/soot produced from them - so i cannot see any problem in running it in a diesel fired cooker. The important thing to remember is that soltron does not change the base fuel specification, so if the device works fine on red diesel (gasoil) then soltron should make it work better!

yes - the carrier liquid is I believe kerosene anyway and the dosage fractions of a percent. how would it impact on the cooker?

it's active function is to keep your diesel 'clean' from biological attack - nothing more. if the fuel isn't clean then machinery starts to underperform.............. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

interesting that the 'joker' who appeared on here some time back claiming solt**n had caused his fuel pumps to fail disappeared pretty quickly when asked some rather basic questions..........

Always used it ever since Cheryl kindly filled one of the diesel tanks to the top with water. Don't know if I would have had the bug but for the cost of soltron I see it as insurance.
I get mine from LeytonC and its always delivered as promised.

I run soltron in my petrol car, and i get about 5% more to the gallon - and better emissions, petrol can suffer from bugs, but not to the extent that diesel does, and lets face it, soltron is cheap enough that keeping your fuel treated and getting even a 1% more on fuel more than pays for the soltron.

Why not use it in your cars as well - bet your fuel costs are higher there!

My car is diesel and only a couple of weeks old, so should be clean,
But i will put it in my Petrol boat, then.
Only thing, i've not got a clue how big the fuel tank is!!!

Cheers

Alistair.

Use in the car anyway - soltron also enhances fuel, its not just a bug killer! so you should see an increase in economy anyway.

as for the boat - bet the tank > 20 gallons < 100 gallons, so put a treatment in for 60 gallons, then treat normaly, remembe you cannot overdose the tank so dont worry.

My diesel car 2.0 L usually does 47 mpg.
As it has now covered 47 K miles I dosed up with Soltron.

The effect was immediate and MPG dropped to 41.7

1) what dosage did you put in.

2) you might well be removing muck from the tank at the moment, so keep up the treatment for a time, then you should see the full benefit!.

remember, soltron is not a miracle cure, it works, but sometimes it need time to work. all cars/boats/vans etc are different with different problems etc. Keep up the dosage though.
