...........that Scott-Cowper chap. The one that had a boat called Polar Bound. Did he ever get there where ever he was going to. Or did it all end in tears like the rest of the intrepid types, crashing into things and breaking down. Hang on, sounds like a typical weekend in Poole!

The trip he set off to do was round Cape Horn then back home via the Northwest Passage. He suffered repeated failure of cutlass bearings and a few other bits of unpleasantness; He had to stop in the falklands and in south america for repairs. Last I heard he had left LA heading north. That would have been about May, I think.

BBC Radio Tyne used to have a dedicated web page but they've dropped it, he doesn't seem to have any form of PR which is strange if he's got any sponsorship.

Perhaps he just has deeper pockets these days and is on a personal adventure.

His NW Passage book is remarkably devoid of any chatty incidentals, "left Port somewhere and 16 days later arrived at Port somewhere else, it was very hot". As I recall it the passage from the North of Scotland to Greenland occupies as much as a whole page!
